Risk management
Forex position size calculator
Estimate position size from your chosen risk budget and stop-loss distance. Results use the broker volume rules and quote-to-account conversion rate you enter.
How the calculation works
Risk budget = account value × risk percentage ÷ 100. Loss per base unit = absolute entry-to-stop distance × quote-to-account conversion. Raw units = risk budget ÷ loss per base unit. The result is converted to lots and rounded down to the broker's volume increment.
Important limitations
This model is for linear Forex positions only. It excludes spread, commission, swap, slippage, gaps, and execution differences. Stops do not guarantee execution at the requested price. Contract size, minimum volume, and volume increment vary by broker and instrument.
