Calculation methodology
Each calculator must document its formula, inputs, units, assumptions, supported instrument models, failure cases and rounding policy.
Calculation governance
- Mathematical functions are deterministic and separated from the interface.
- Monetary arithmetic uses decimal arithmetic rather than binary floating-point operations.
- Instrument specifications and conversion rates are supplied explicitly; unsupported values are not invented.
- Volume is rounded down to the supplied broker increment and risk is recalculated after rounding.
- Missing or invalid required values cause a clear error rather than a guessed result.
Current review status
The first release contains linear Forex models for position sizing, pip value and gross/net price P/L, plus a price-distance risk/reward calculator. These implementations are covered by automated unit and reference tests. No independent human review or broker certification is claimed. Users should verify the calculations against their broker specifications and an independent source before relying on a result.
Known exclusions
Spread and slippage are not inferred. The P/L tool subtracts only the total costs entered by the user. Metals, CFDs, futures, crypto, broker-specific margin and market-data feeds require separate specifications and tests before support can be claimed.
